Sandra and Chris, who have many years experience in the shooting field as well as general obedience for the domestic pet, are the founders of the Purbeck Gundog School. They are often at local country shows demonstrating gundog handling with their spaniels. 

At two different venues we are able to offer training for all gundog breeds, at all stages of training, whether working dogs or domestic pets, on private land where dogs can be trained in a natural hunting and retrieving environment. They also have experienced retriever trainers helping out and sharing their expert knowledge.

The aim of the school is to teach novice handlers and their dogs, including those who do not wish to work their dogs. Gundog training is equally suited to the pet dog as it is founded on solid obedience and will improve the behaviour of any dog taking part.

For the advanced handler there is the opportunity to work their dogs on game and have them shot over if they wish, as well as the chance to become part of a shoot during the season.

We are running fortnightly group training sessions on Sunday mornings at each venue which are split into puppy, intermediate and advanced spaniel and retriever classes. One to one training sessions can also be arranged.
